This Mobile App Policy applies when you access or use the Preppo AI mobile application (“Preppo App” or “App”).
The Preppo App is operated by Creati Pty Ltd ACN 697 537 947, trading as Preppo AI (“Preppo”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your use of Preppo.
If you are a student, some sections of this policy are written for the parent or guardian who manages your Preppo account.
1. About the Preppo App
The Preppo App provides access to Preppo's AI-powered educational services on supported mobile devices.
Depending on the version of the App, subscription plan and device, features may include:
- AI tutoring and educational conversations
- homework support
- guided problem solving
- practice and revision
- image or camera-based questions
- document or image uploads
- voice questions
- personalised learning
- learning history
- student profiles
- parent or guardian features
- notifications
- and other educational functionality.
Available features may change as Preppo develops.
2. Parent and guardian accounts
Preppo accounts must be created and managed by a parent, legal guardian or other authorised adult who is at least 18 years old.
Children may use student profiles associated with an adult's account.
Children may not independently:
- create an adult Preppo account
- purchase a subscription
- provide payment information
- or agree to paid subscription terms.
The adult account holder is responsible for managing access to the account and associated student profiles.
3. App stores
The Preppo App may be distributed through third-party app stores.
When you download or use the App, you may also be subject to the applicable app store's terms, policies and rules.
The app store is not responsible for providing Preppo's educational service except to the extent required under its own terms or applicable law.
Where there is a conflict between this policy and mandatory requirements imposed by an applicable app store or applicable law, those requirements will apply to the extent of the conflict.
4. Device requirements
You need a compatible device, operating system and internet connection to use the Preppo App.
We do not guarantee that the App will work on every device or operating-system version.
From time to time, we may stop supporting older devices or operating systems where reasonably necessary for:
- security
- privacy
- technical compatibility
- performance
- third-party provider requirements
- or continued development of the App.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes to device or operating-system requirements.
5. App permissions
Some features may require permission to access certain functions on your device.
Depending on the features you choose to use, this may include access to:
- the camera
- photographs or media
- microphone
- notifications
- and files or documents.
Preppo should only request device permissions where they are reasonably connected to a feature you are using.
For example:
Camera access may allow a student to photograph a homework question.
Photo or file access may allow a student to upload learning material.
Microphone access may allow a student to ask a question using their voice.
Notification permission may allow Preppo to send permitted reminders or account-related information.
You can manage device permissions through your device settings.
Some features may not work if the relevant permission is disabled.
6. Camera and photographs
If camera access is enabled, students may be able to photograph homework, worksheets, textbook questions or other learning materials.
Students should avoid including unnecessary personal information in photographs.
Where possible, do not include:
- faces
- home addresses
- school identification details
- personal phone numbers
- passwords
- payment information
- private information about another person or other information unrelated to the learning question.
Students must not upload intimate, sexual, exploitative or otherwise unlawful images.
Information about how uploaded images are processed and retained is available in our Privacy Policy and Data & AI Policy.
7. Microphone and voice features
Where available, Preppo may allow students to ask questions using their voice.
The App will request appropriate device permission before accessing the microphone where required.
Preppo should not intentionally activate the microphone for educational voice input when the student has not chosen to use a feature requiring it.
Voice information may need to be processed by Preppo or an authorised service provider to convert speech into text or otherwise provide the requested feature.
Further information is available in our Privacy Policy and Data & AI Policy.
8. Notifications
With permission, the Preppo App may send notifications.
Notifications may include:
- account or security information
- learning reminders
- product information
- subscription information
- or other relevant communications.
We aim not to design notifications primarily to pressure children into spending unnecessary time using Preppo.
Students should be able to leave Preppo when they have finished learning without being made to feel guilty for doing so.
You can manage notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, Preppo settings.
Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable law and your communication preferences.
9. Education over engagement
Preppo is designed as a learning tool, not as a general-purpose AI companion.
We do not intentionally design the App to maximise a child's emotional attachment to AI.
We aim not to use features that intentionally:
- pressure children to keep using the App
- make students feel guilty for leaving
- encourage students to choose AI over real relationships
- create romantic or sexual relationships with students
- encourage children to keep secrets from parents or carers
- or manipulate students into spending unnecessary time using Preppo.
A successful Preppo session does not need to be a long one.
Our goal is to help students learn something useful and then move on with their day.
10. AI-generated information
The Preppo App uses artificial intelligence.
AI can make mistakes.
Responses may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, inappropriate or misleading.
Students should check important information against trusted educational sources and seek help from a teacher, tutor, parent, guardian or other appropriate person where necessary.
Preppo is not a medical, mental-health, legal, financial or emergency service.
Our Responsible AI Policy explains the principles guiding our use of AI.
11. Academic integrity
The Preppo App is designed to support genuine learning.
Students should not use the App to:
- cheat in an examination
- circumvent school assessment rules
- submit prohibited AI-generated work as their own
- impersonate another student
- fabricate sources or evidence
- conceal prohibited AI use
- or otherwise breach applicable academic-integrity requirements.
Preppo may provide hints, explanations and guided questions rather than simply providing a final answer.
Our Academic Integrity Policy explains this approach in more detail.
12. Child safety
Preppo uses safeguards intended to provide an age-appropriate educational experience.
The App may restrict, redirect or refuse requests that appear inappropriate, unsafe or inconsistent with Preppo's educational purpose.
No AI safety system is perfect.
Parents and students can report concerning interactions in accordance with our Report a Problem process and Child Safety Policy.
If a student encounters something that makes them uncomfortable, scared or confused, they should stop the interaction and tell a parent, carer, teacher or another trusted adult.
Preppo is not an emergency service.
13. Privacy
We collect and process information through the Preppo App as described in our Privacy Policy.
Depending on the features used, this may include:
- account information
- student profile information
- educational conversations
- learning activity
- uploaded images or documents
- voice information
- device and technical information
- subscription information
- and information used to personalise learning.
We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for legitimate purposes.
Our Privacy for Students notice explains important privacy information in simpler language for students.
14. Tracking and advertising
Preppo does not sell students' personal information.
We do not intend to use the Preppo App to build advertising profiles about students.
Where optional analytics technologies are used, we will provide appropriate information and choices as required by applicable law.
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy provide further information about analytics and similar technologies.
15. Device and technical information
The App may automatically collect certain technical information reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the Service.
This may include information such as:
- device type
- operating-system version
- App version
- IP address
- language or regional settings
- crash information
- diagnostic information
- security information
- and technical identifiers.
We do not require precise device location merely to provide ordinary AI tutoring functionality.
16. Analytics and crash reporting
We may use analytics and crash-reporting technologies to understand whether the App is working properly and identify technical problems.
Where these technologies are optional or require consent, we will provide appropriate controls.
We do not intend to use analytics to create advertising profiles about students.
17. Personalised learning and memory
Depending on the student's plan and available features, Preppo may remember information about a student's learning to provide more personalised support.
This may include:
- subjects
- learning goals
- previous topics
- areas of strength
- areas requiring additional practice
- learning preferences
- and previous interactions.
The purpose of this information is educational personalisation.
It is not intended to create an advertising profile about the student.
Further information about personalised learning and memory is available in our Data & AI Policy.
18. Parent and guardian visibility
The parent or guardian managing a Preppo account may have access to information about associated student profiles.
Depending on available features, this may include learning activity, progress, history or session information.
Students should understand that their Preppo activity may therefore be visible to the adult managing their profile.
19. Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Some Preppo features may require a paid subscription.
Subscriptions may be purchased directly from Preppo or, where offered, through an app store.
Before purchasing, the applicable purchase screen should clearly display information such as:
- price
- billing frequency
- whether the subscription automatically renews
- trial or promotional conditions
- when payment will be charged
- and how the subscription can be cancelled.
Purchases made through an app store may be processed and managed by that app store.
Where applicable, cancellation or refund requests may need to be made through the store through which the subscription was purchased.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our Subscription & Refunds Policy provides further information.
20. Free trials and promotional offers
Preppo may offer free trials, beta access or promotional subscriptions.
The applicable offer terms will be displayed when you sign up.
We will not convert free access into a paid recurring subscription unless the adult account holder has agreed to the applicable paid arrangement and provided or authorised an appropriate payment method.
If a trial is designed to automatically convert into a paid subscription, this must be clearly disclosed before the adult account holder agrees to the trial.
21. App updates
We may release updates to:
- add or improve features
- correct bugs
- improve performance
- address security vulnerabilities
- improve safety systems
- or comply with legal or technical requirements.
Some updates may be necessary to continue using the App safely.
Where reasonably necessary, we may require users to install a newer version before continuing to use some or all of the Service.
22. Account and device security
Parents and carers should take reasonable steps to protect access to their Preppo account and device.
This includes:
- protecting account credentials
- using appropriate device security
- not sharing passwords
- keeping the operating system and App reasonably up to date
- and telling us if unauthorised access is suspected.
Students should never send their Preppo password to another person.
Preppo representatives will not ask a child to send their password by message.
23. Third-party links and services
The App may interact with third-party services.
For example, Preppo may rely on third parties for:
- authentication
- artificial intelligence
- cloud infrastructure;
- payments
- analytics
- communications
- speech processing
- or other technical functionality.
Some features may also connect users to third-party websites or platforms.
Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy practices.
Our Privacy Policy and Data & AI Policy provide further information about how third-party providers may process information on Preppo's behalf.
24. WhatsApp and other external platforms
Some Preppo features may also be available through third-party platforms such as WhatsApp.
Those platforms are separate from the Preppo App.
When a student or parent uses Preppo through another platform, that platform may independently process information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Parents and carers should consider those practices before allowing a child to use Preppo through an external platform.
25. Removing the App
You can uninstall the Preppo App from your device at any time.
Uninstalling the App does not necessarily:
- cancel a paid subscription
- delete the Preppo account
- or delete personal information associated with the account.
Subscriptions must be cancelled through the applicable cancellation process.
Account and data deletion requests are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
26. Reporting a problem
If something goes wrong with the App, please tell us.
This might include:
- incorrect AI responses
- inappropriate content
- child-safety concerns
- privacy concerns
- crashes
- login problems
- subscription issues
- or another technical problem.
