Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Preppo AI ("Preppo", "the Service") — including through preppo.ai or any associated mobile application — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service immediately.

If you are a parent or guardian creating an account on behalf of a child under 18, you agree to these Terms on their behalf and accept full responsibility for their use of the Service.

2. Who Can Use Preppo

The Service is designed for use by school-aged children (primarily Years 3–6, with broader support for all ages) under the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By registering an account, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old (if registering as a parent/guardian), or
• You have obtained verifiable parental or guardian consent if you are under 18.

Preppo complies with applicable Australian laws relating to the collection of data from children. We do not knowingly allow unsupervised minors to create accounts.

3. Description of the Service

Preppo is an AI-powered educational coaching platform that provides:

• Personalised, one-on-one AI tutoring across subjects including Maths, English, Science, and more
• Adaptive coaching via selectable AI personas (The Encourager, The Challenger, The Explorer)
• Socratic scaffolding — guiding students to find answers rather than simply providing them
• Image-based worksheet interpretation (photo upload of textbooks/worksheets)
• NSW curriculum-aligned support including OC and Selective Test preparation
• Real-time AI-generated feedback and question generation
• A parent dashboard to monitor progress and learning profiles

4. Accounts & Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You must notify us immediately at legal@preppo.ai if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
• Preppo uses Clerk for authentication. Your login credentials are managed via Clerk's secure infrastructure.
• One parent/guardian account may manage multiple child profiles.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Preppo only for lawful educational purposes. You must not:

• Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, offensive, abusive, discriminatory, or illegal
• Attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or circumvent the AI systems or prompt engineering underpinning the Service
• Share your account credentials or allow unauthorised users to access your account
• Upload images or content that contain personal identifying information of third parties
• Use the Service for purposes other than personal, non-commercial educational use without prior written consent
• Attempt to probe, scrape, or automate interactions with the Service beyond normal use

6. AI-Generated Content & Limitations

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Preppo's responses are generated by large language model (LLM) AI and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for high-stakes assessment submission
• Preppo is an educational coaching tool, not a substitute for qualified teachers, tutors, or professional academic advice
• AI-generated content should be used as a learning guide and reviewed critically — particularly for formal exam preparation
• Preppo does not guarantee any specific academic outcome or improvement in grades

7. Subscription, Billing & Cancellation

• Preppo offers free and paid subscription tiers described at /pricing.
• Paid plans are billed in Australian Dollars (AUD) on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).
• All prices include applicable GST where required under Australian law.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued for unused periods unless required by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
• Refund requests are assessed in accordance with your rights under the ACL. Contact legal@preppo.ai for billing inquiries.

8. Intellectual Property

• All content, branding, code, AI models, personas, UI designs, and features of Preppo are the exclusive intellectual property of Creati Pty Ltd.
• You retain ownership of any original content you upload (e.g., uploaded images of worksheets or textbook problems). By uploading, you grant Creati Pty Ltd a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and use that content solely for the purpose of delivering, improving, and developing the Service.
• Where content is used for Service improvement or research, it will be anonymised and aggregated to ensure no individual student or user can be identified.
• You must not reproduce, distribute, or commercialise any part of the Service without prior written permission.

9. Privacy & Child Safety

The privacy and safety of children using Preppo is of paramount importance to us. Our full Privacy Policy is available at /privacy and forms part of these Terms.

Key commitments:

• We do not sell children's data to third parties
• We do not serve behavioural advertising to children's accounts
• Conversation history is used solely to improve personalised coaching and is not shared externally except as required by law
• We use industry-standard encryption and Cloudflare infrastructure to protect your data

10. Modifications to the Service & Terms

Creati Pty Ltd reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will notify registered users of material changes to these Terms via email or in-app notification. Your continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Australian law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Creati Pty Ltd's liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the total subscription fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including but not limited to loss of data, academic outcomes, or business loss.

13. Termination

Creati Pty Ltd may suspend or terminate your account at its discretion if you breach these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting legal@preppo.ai. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
