Preppo or Preppo AI is operated by Creati Pty Ltd ACN 697 537 947 (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Australia. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and your rights regarding that information.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of personal information:
Account information: Name, email address, and authentication details when you create an account or sign in via our secure authentication provider (Clerk).Student profile information: A student's display name or profile name, year level, subjects, learning goals, areas of difficulty, learning preferences and other information a parent/s or guardian provides when creating or managing a student profile. Learning and progress information: Questions, answers, topics studied, performance, areas of strength or difficulty, learning preferences, session history and other information generated through a student's use of Preppo.
Usage data & Content: Chat session content, Messages, homework questions, images, documents, voice messages and other content submitted to Preppo. Personalisation information: Information derived from previous learning sessions that Preppo may use to personalise future tutoring and maintain a student's learning profile.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and session identifiers collected automatically via Cloudflare and our hosting infrastructure.
Preppo AI is intended for use by children under the supervision of a parent/s or guardian. We do not allow unsupervised minors to create accounts. Where a parent/s or guardian creates an account for a child, they consent to the collection of the child's information for educational purposes as described in this policy.
3. Why we collect your information
We collect and use personal information to:
Provide the Preppo AI tutoring service;
- Send product announcements (you may unsubscribe at any time)
- Personalise and improve AI coaching responses.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our platform
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Disclosure of your information
We do not sell you or your child’s personal information. We do not use children's personal information for targeted advertising. We do not permit our AI providers to use student conversations to train their general-purpose AI models)
We may share it with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including:
- Cloud hosting and database infrastructure (Cloudflare)
- AI model providers used to power tutoring responses (Google, OpenAI and Cloudflare)
- Email communication platforms (e.g. Resend) for transactional emails
- Authentication and user management providers (e.g. Clerk).
All third-party providers are required to handle your information securely and only for the purpose for which it was shared. Some providers may be located outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to ensure they comply with standards equivalent to the APPs.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active under the relevant plan;
- Free: 7 days
- Starter: 30 days
- Pro: 180 days
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information;
Request deletion of your personal information;
Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time;
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au if you believe we have breached your privacy.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and session tokens to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the platform.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on this page. Continued use of Preppo AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
